In between regular shooting, director Nicole van Kilsdonk and DOP Anton Mertens found time to shoot plates from the summit of the Ventoux. The pristine white of the rocks create a sharp contrast with azure skies surrounding it, resulting in interesting lines and compositions. We used this 'slanted' approach as the main concept for the typographic design. Even also in to the end credits, which appear diagonal over the filmed background.
Inline with the opening sequence we created an end scroll that was slanted as well.
Four men, old friends, climb the mountain Ventoux on their race bikes, just as they did 30 years ago. And they do what men do well: alternating serious conversation with bullshitting and laughter. Until their old friend Laura shows up, and the ghosts from the past coming knocking on the door.
