Den Uyl en de Affaire Lockheed

2010  Dutch Mountain Movies, director Hans Hylkema

Planet X FX was responsible for the titles, the placing of the backgrounds in car interiors shot in a sound stage and countless scenes using archival images placed in televisions. Even the fighter jets that fly over Soestdijk Palace in the series were added in post-production.

The trailer of 'Den Uyl en de affaire Lockheed'

The Lockheed affair is the largest corruption scandal till now in the Netherlands. When in 1976 it is revealed that Lockheed has paid kickbacks to a high-placed Dutch government official, Minister-President Joop den Uyl immediately knows that this is Prince Bernhard. The country is in an uproar. ‘Den Uyl en de Affaire Lockheed’ is a three-part reconstruction based on the facts, with speculative additions in which the den Uyl family reflects the confusion that arose and the role Joop den Uyl played in it. Does the minister-president choose to keep the monarchy or not?
