Waterland Film and director Boris Paval Conen contacted Planet X FX early in 2010 for the ambitious, seven-part drama series ‘De Geheimen van Barslet’. The participating broadcasting companies are the NCRV and NTR (formerly NPS).
In total Planet X FX created more than 400 visual effects shots for this production. In the coming months the realisation of one of the most spectacular parts will be revealed step-by-step.
An example is the ‘bread roll test’ done early in 2010 to see if the proposed techniques for the series would work. What happened and how will be made clear at a later date, but the test was successful with a rain of bread rolls which were created with the help of 3D simulations.

‘De Geheimen van Barslet’ tells the story of mysterious events that happen in the idyllic village of Barslet. Miraculous events hold the villagers in their grip. A boy dies in strange circumstances, a small child predicts the future, it rains fish in broad daylight and an arsonist roams the streets. Eight villagers keep a secret that sheds a new light on these baffling events. What is going on in the village of Barslet?
An extensive R&D trajectory was started in 2010 to test one of the most spectacular 'secrets' of Barslet. Would the proposed approach work? The result is this test with bread rolls. There will soon be more information available about the how and why of this clip.
