'The Hell of '63' (‘De Hel van ‘63’) is set in the glacial Elfstedentocht of 1963. During this legendary skating marathon four participants conquer not only the weather and the treacherous ice conditions, but each his own heartbreak, low self-esteem, lack of perseverance and egocentrism.
Planet X FX did the almost 400 visual effects shots for this film, varying from an inserted snow storm to set and matte extensions and full 3D CG sequences.
